The Arbitration Council Foundation (ACF) will hold a Signing Ceremony for the Agreement on Core Support to the Arbitration Council Foundation, marking the commencement of a funding partnership between Sweden and the ACF on Friday, November 14 at 3 PM at the InterContinental Hotel, Phnom Penh.
Under the Agreement, Sweden will fund the ACF with a total of 8.4 million Swedish Krona, equivalent to US$1.2 million between October 2014 and December 2016 to support the continued functioning of the Arbitration Council.
ACF will utilize this grant to:
- Provide effective labour dispute resolution services that both workers and employers can trust.
- Raise awareness about the AC and promote dispute resolution skills for workers and employers through capacity building, partnership, and stakeholder outreach activities.
- Maintain and promote the institutional integrity and sustainability of the AC.
The Arbitration Council is a national quasi-judicial institution responsible for resolving collective labour disputes in Cambodia. The Arbitration Council is provided with legal, technical, and financial support by the ACF, an NGO duly registered with the Minister of Interior. In addition, the Arbitration Council is given case management support by the Secretariat of the Arbitration Council.
