Sweden and USAID fund the Arbitration Council Foundation to enhance Cambodia’s labour dispute resolution services

On 27th February 2020, Arbitration Council Foundation organizes the Recognition Ceremony of Agreements on funding support from Embassy of Sweden and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) supporting a strong, independent Arbitration Council Foundation. This event participated by the representatives from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Embassy of Sweden, USAID, ILO, GMAC, CAMFEBA, Trade Unions, Arbitration Council and the Foundation.

 

USAID, which has supported ACF since 2014, is providing ACF a new five-year $1.5 million grant through its longtime partner, Solidarity Center, as part of the new USAID/Cambodia Labour Rights in Cambodia (LRIC) project. The Embassy of Sweden has also provided financial support to ACF since 2014. With the new award signed today, Sweden will fund 5 million SEK (approximately 530,000 US dollars) for a two-year period (2020-2021) to promote well-functioning and credible labour dispute arbitration system.
